Hanjo is a bilingual Spanish/English translation and adaptation of Yukio Mishima’s Modern Noh Play of the same name. Directed by Kameron Steele and featuring Inés Somellera, the work follows three wounded characters, shaped by passion and bound by fate, as their long, desperate, and very different paths gradually converge.
The production premiered at Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara, Mexico, in November 2003, where it was selected by El Mural newspaper as Best Play of 2003. In November 2004, Hanjo toured to New York with The South Wing and was presented at HERE Arts Center as part of the México Now Festival.
